Rice welcomed Carpenter to his team stating, “I am honored to have Stuart’s endorsement and look forward to his help and support in ensuring our campaign continues to support energy solutions for America’s future.“
“For decades, folks like Stuart Carpenter have helped the Savannah River Site play a pivotal role in helping America win the Cold War. Today, the new missions at SRS are helping us achieve energy independence,” continued Rice.
Rice concluded, “In the next 20 years, I am confident the Third Congressional District will become the Silicone Valley of Energy Independence. Getting there requires continued leadership in Washington that will support new efforts at SRS, at Aiken’s Center for Hydrogen Research and Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research.”
Rice, a small business owner, has represented Pickens County in the South Carolina House of Representatives for the past fifteen years. There, he has been a floor leader for the two largest tax-cuts in state history and has fought tirelessly for conservative reforms such as eliminating government waste.
